Position Description:

Working with maintenance stakeholders, this position is responsible for providing supervision to the electrical team to ensure production and maintenance targets are met. This role will plan, organize, and oversee day to day operations while working closely with the electrical superintendent in accordance with company standards and procedures. Ensure all programs, personal actions and approaches support Barrick's goals for safety and sustainability. Act as a safety champion and constantly apply the principals and spirit of Courageous Safety Leadership and Courage to Care.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coach maintenance team in completing all scheduled maintenance activities and in implementing planned maintenance activities following the corrective and preventive maintenance process.
  • Schedule daily activities at line up to ensure efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, material and resources
  • Perform physical inspections to determine if work meets company standards.
  • Discuss any technical or problems relating to equipment.
  • Track completion of all work orders and provide information to appropriate personnel as required.
  • Ensure all work completed supports activities of the subsequent shifts.
  • Maintain prints and various plans.
  • Recommend measures or changes to improve production methods, equipment performance and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department and entire mine
  • Enforce compliance consistently and fairly all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all maintenance policies and procedures are issued when required. Make recommendation to the improvement of the policies and procedures to reflect changes to the maintenance department.
  • Provide reports as required for decision making, period reporting and budgeting purposes through e-mail, computer requirements and additional required data entry.
  • Anticipate and implement solution to problems that may occur in the operations through trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Provide input and support to maintenance budget.
  • Manage, maintain and monitor all aspects with respect to Nuclear Substance and Radiation Devices and ensure that regulatory requirements are being met.


Qualifications:

  • Must have previous experience in the mining industry required. Work history of increasing responsibility with 5 years supervisory or leadership experience in the electrical field preferred
  • Sound understanding of electrical theory, standard practices, tools and terminology of the electrical trade.
  • Proven strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Proven safety record and ability to support group attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection, and production goals required.
  • Excellent leadership, verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
  • Good planning and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position required.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of people required.
  • CMMS or SAP experience required
