Our client is seeking an Environment & Permitting Manager with expertise in project development and start-ups to join their team. Reporting to the Vice President of Environment & Permitting, this is an integral position and vital in the creation of all aspects of environment & permitting for the project. Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, implement and monitor an environment management plan aligned with overall business strategies.
  • Develop viable environmental policies, including resource conservation, sustainable development and waste reduction.
  • Coordinate and lead public engagement sessions on environmental issues and social responsibility.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the environment & permitting team, including training plans and benchmarks.
  • Analyze environmental monitoring data to ensure compliance and provide related reports and presentations.
  • Manage and oversee resources to ensure appropriate allocation.
  • Develop and manage the environment & permitting budget to ensure continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position within the mining industry, start-up experience would be an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Experience successfully developing and implementing environment & permitting strategies and creating training programs.
  • Expertise in environment & permitting legislation and regulations.
  • Solid knowledge and experience analyzing environmental data including use of applicable software and computer programs.
