Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the predictive maintenance program in addition to creating engineered solutions to complex equipment problems
  • Implement various operational and maintenance alternatives to leverage cost-savings to comply with internal/external customer demands for timely repairs of process equipment
  • Identify and set priorities on opportunities for reliability improvement by mining information using reliability databases
  • Statistically analyze equipment and performance to assess reliability, maintainability, and availability
  • Provide training and facilitation on root cause failure analysis (RCA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) with maintenance and operations personnel
  • Manage capital projects team and multi-million-dollar budget to improve reliability, maintainability, and operational ability
  • Develop Nevada Gold Mines' Maintenance Procedures, Standards and Specifications focused on sustaining a reliability-culture
  • Cultivate productive partnerships with key vendors/OEM's that drive improvement in equipment
  • Maintain and validate downtime reporting databases and KPI's
  • Identify, scope and evaluate reliability improvement projects
  • Drive continuous improvement in the maintenance division and help foster the culture to ensure its longevity
  • Ensure the sustainability of the Condition Monitoring techniques that are to be implemented
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience in a reliability role required
  • Two (2) years practical experience in Operations, preferably in a manufacturing/ processing or mining environment required
  • Five hundred (500) hours of project management experience on projects individually valued over $100,000 required
  • Demonstrated safety leadership capability for both self and team required
  • Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills to act as a Change Agent required
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of reliability and improvement concepts: DMAIC, RCA, FMEA, RCM, LEAN required
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Condition Monitoring techniques such as: oil and vibration analysis, thermography and/or ultrasonic emissions required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project preferred
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) and/or Certified Plant Maintenance Manager preferred

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018. Three of these assets are Tier One gold mines: Barrick's Cortez; the combination of Barrick's Goldstrike and Newmont Goldcorp's Carlin; and the combination of Barrick's Turquoise Ridge and Newmont Goldcorp's Twin Creeks.
