Hatch LTK is currently seeking a highly motivatedSenior Systemwide Electrical Engineerto join our North American Infrastructure group in our Rail Systemsteam in theLos Angeles, CA or Seattle, WA

In this role the ideal candidate is aself-directed engineering professional with experience in low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems design, microgrid systems design, such as power generators, PV solar systems, battery storage systems; electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, and industrial facility distribution, high voltage systems, and control systems design are highly preferred. Experience in the electrical trade, transit facility systems design, and working with electrical utilities is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships are critically important for success in this role. Candidates must also be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.

As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Plan, manage, and design low and medium voltage distribution systems for industrial facilities, transit facilities and stations, electric vehicle charging stations and microgrid applications.
  • Develop plans, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, technical studies, reports, and memorandums.
  • Visit project sites and customer facilities for meetings, data collection and planning.
  • Coordinate with electric utilities for permitting and electric services.
  • Coordinate with other engineers and architects.
  • Meet and communicate with clients, team members, and management.


You bring to the role:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering License in California or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electrical system design
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) andlocal codes
  • experience in developing plans, specifications, calculations, technical memorandums, and estimates for projects
  • Experience in power systems analysis, such as load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and protective relay coordination is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity of power systems analysis software like ETAP, Power Factory, or similar applications is a plus
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar drafting programs is a plus.
