Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties:
Reporting to the Technician Services Superintendent the Mine Planning Engineer typically works a 4, 10 hour schedule and is responsible for the following:
Mine design, studies, planning, scheduling and working on Fleet management system - Dispatch.
Liaison with a wide variety of persons and groups to obtain the pertinent data needed for each project.
Assisting in the review, investigation and development of appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects
Assisting in providing technical advice and guidance for designated engineering projects and programs under close supervision
Participates in small to medium sized site construction, expansion or modification projects
Prepare and present summary reports, performance metrics as required
Performs other duties as required
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mine Engineering or related engineering discipline
Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
Excellent interpersonal/relationship skills; able to communicate both written and verbally with individuals, crews and departments.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
Required Experience:
2-7 years of experience required
Exposure to open-pit, hard rock mining operations is preferred
Experience with Hexagon MineSight mine planning software and AutoCAD software is preferred
Knowledge of Dispatch Fleet Management System is preferred
Computer literate and proficient in common word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software
Ability to provide positive customer service
