We are looking for Principal Advisor Asset Management Performance who will work closely across Product Groups to collaborate and lead asset management projects and change programmes to deliver business objectives. The role is primarily focused on supporting North American west coast sites.

Reporting to the Lead Asset Management in a collaborative community within the Asset Management Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, you will:
  • Lead and partner with Product Groups to improve asset performance through implementation of asset management practices
  • Provide guidance and coach leadership teams on implementation of asset management processes and procedures
  • Lead and partner with sites on standardizing, replicating and sustaining asset management processes and procedures to deliver sustainable operations
  • Partner with sites to embed and or replicate leading asset management practice/s
  • Partner with sites to build and strengthen existing asset management capabilities
  • Provide assistance with group assurance audits
  • Proactively support the BU's with asset management support, risk reduction/mitigation, and protection of the license to operate and strategic objectives
  • Be responsible for seamless relationship between the product group business owner and Rio Tinto STP AM CoE

What you'll bring
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, Processing, Maintenance and Operation, Business Analysis or other relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the different Asset Management elements
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing/executing/embedding Asset Management improvement initiatives
  • Experience in planning and scheduling
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with strong ability to liaise with external and internal stakeholders effectively
  • Strong ability to adapt to different site contexts
  • Willingness to travel and be self-motivated.

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • 7+ years of proven leadership experience with high influencing and negotiation skills
  • International experience and ideally knowledge of multiple commodities fixed plant/HME/ports/rails/power asset etc

Where you will be working

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
