Role Title - Renewable Energy Engineer

Work Location: Perth

Roster: Monday to Friday

Summary

The role of the Renewable Energy Engineer is to support the Manager Renewable Energy Engineering Services and Principal Solar PV Engineer in engineering tasks related to Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) global Wind and Solar PV Energy Projects under evaluation, development, construction and operation

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Support ongoing improvement of FFI internal wind and solar PV energy project standards and procedures in relation to all relevant aspects of the development, construction and operation.
  • Provide value-adding engineering support to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare, procure, document and oversee climate monitoring campaigns, data collection and quality analysis and manage on demand relevant service provider.
  • Undertake Wind power and Solar PV plant design and construction process improvement in liaise with the relevant business functions and departments.
  • Develop relationships with and regularly liaise with consultants, service provider and equipment manufacturers
  • Provide technical expertise on wind turbine generator technology, solar PV system main components and keep abreast of latest trends and future developments
  • Undertake and document resource analysis, project design and solar PV project energy generation / resource forecasts in accordance with best industry practise

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Tertiary Engineering Qualification (preferred Renewable Energy, Energy or Electrical)
  • Good knowledge of appropriate wind and solar PV engineering software and best industry practise
  • Experience in Wind Farm and Solar PV plant design and development
  • Knowledge of big data management and data analysis principles
  • Experience operating in an environment where there are tight timeframes.
