Construction Superintendent

About the Position

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our client Rio Tinto within their Maintenance Engineering Department for a FIFO 5:2 position out of Perth. This role will see you reporting to the Project Manager and providing strong leadership for a large power project consisting of a new 220kV transmission line and bulk terminal substation located in Dampier.
Duties will include:
  • Site HSE performance and culture on site. Providing safety leadership & ensuring the highest HSEQ standards are being met at all times
  • Schedule performance and validation for on-site activities.
  • Quality of on-site installation activities.
  • Project representative for onsite internal and external stakeholders.
  • Daily log of site activities, ensuring accuracy of activities and contractor performance.
  • Coordination of site technical and commercial issues with project management team.
  • Monthly validation of the contractor progress.
  • Ensuring compliance to the regulatory permits for the site works.
  • Supervision of CMS representatives and commissioning personnel.
  • Incident reporting and investigations.
  • Building a strong relationship with site supervision and workforce. Enabling the contractor to succeed.


Skills and Experience:
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • Minimum of 15 years Construction Superintendent experience with power projects within the Mining Industry
  • Experience with Rio Tinto Utilities network preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, show initiative and be drive to achieve results
