Redpath Mongolia LLC has an opening for a Raisebore Supervisor/Trainer to join their dynamic team at the Oyu Tolgoi Project in Mongolia. The site is situated in Southern Mongolia in the heart of the Gobi Desert flatlands.
Closing: November 12, 2021
Location: Oyu Tolgoi
Rotation: 10 weeks on, 5 weeks off *Due to current Covid-19 travel restrictions, the rotation is subject to change.
Shift Length: 12 hours
Compensation: Redpath offers a comprehensive wage and benefit package

Job Description
The primary role of the Raisebore Supervisor/Trainer is to direct the activities with respect to all facets of operating the raisedrill machinery. This includes moving, set up, pilot hole drilling, installation/ removal of reamer, MUBO tool, inspection and tear down, to achieve project goals in Safety, Quality and Production. In addition, the Raisebore Supervisor/Trainer is responsible to mentor and train the Raisebore Helper and Assistant Raisebore Operator in the safe operation of the various raisedrills.

Job Description
The primary role of the Raisebore Supervisor/Trainer is to direct the activities with respect to all facets of operating the raisedrill machinery. This includes moving, set up, pilot hole drilling, installation/ removal of reamer, MUBO tool, inspection and tear down, to achieve project goals in Safety, Quality and Production. In addition, the Raisebore Supervisor/Trainer is responsible to mentor and train the Raisebore Helper and Assistant Raisebore Operator in the safe operation of the various raisedrills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and supplies and procure items as required to ensure production progresses
- Accountable for the performance of the raise drill, including all aspects of safety, financial, schedule, quality and performance
- Execute training plans for national employees to become competent raise bore drillers
- Report and escalate emerging issues with the Raisebore Superintendent
- Communicate with the Client at the site as required
- Prepare and submit reports as required
- Submit accurate timesheets for processing in a timely manner
- Operate the assigned raisedrill according to procedure with respect to set-up, etc.
- Make required adjustments to the operation of the raisedrill to compensate for ground conditions
- Give direction to crew members on the various duties with respect to the safe and efficient operation of the raisedrill
- Connect various components on the raisedrill as required
- Read and interpret engineering plans to set up the raisedrill and assemble components
- Perform and/or assist minor repairs as required
- Ensure the maintenance of a clean work site, storage of materials and spare parts
- Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage
- Comply with Oyu Tolgoi's Critical Risk Management (CRM) requirements
- The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Required: 5+ years' experience in operating various classes of raise drills, including a minimum of 2+ years drilling experience on boxhole drills
- Prior Supervisory and Training experience
- Ability to follow directions
- Must be able to communicate in a knowledgeable, professional manner, both written and verbally
- Ability to adjust raisedrill parameters to compensate for changing ground conditions
- Extensive knowledge of various classes of raisedrills
- Knowledge of raisebore drill operations
- Knowledge of drilling machinery
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to do perform routine maintenance on machines
- Ability to operate heavy equipment
- Ability to multi task and work effectively
