Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Shutdown Management Team at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent - Short Term Shut Planning to join the Shutdown Management team at Lihir. Reporting to the Manager - Shutdowns, you will oversee all aspects of the preparation, planning, scheduling and close out of the upcoming planned shutdown in an approximately 6 months time horizon focus to coordinate and integrate all shutdown activities to achieve the shutdown goals of safety, quality, schedule and cost.

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience essential in mineral processing including large-scale fixed asset management experience.
  • Experience in the planning and delivery of multi-disciplinary shutdowns and maintenance projects.
  • A tertiary qualified Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Asset Management or Relevant trades certificate is essential.
  • Certificate in Workplace Assessment and Training or similar desirable.
  • High competency in shutdown planning and scheduling processes and systems.
  • Skilled in the use of the CMMS/EAM and SAP software to manage the day-to-day planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • High-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.

Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment and a police check.
