ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, the Health & Safety Coordinator is part of the Health & Safety Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Orchestrate H&S programs implementations in departments;
  • Ensure H&S standards are respected between H&S counselors & departments;
  • Direct supervision of H&S counselors;
  • Optimize H&S program as per regulation requires;
  • Develop, implement and communicate H&S prevention program;
  • Coach department managers in regards of the Supervision Formula.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High School Diploma;
  • 5 or more years of experience in the Health & Safety field, in a similar role;
  • Supervisory experience;
  • Experience in the mining industry;
  • Experience in a camp setting is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
