We are looking for a Cultural Heritage Specialist to play a key role within the Communities and Social Performance Team to support and deliver on strategic partnership with Traditional Owners, and manage business impacts and risks related to heritage management. This role is suited to an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is seeking an influential role within a leading organisation. You will be passionate about cultural heritage management and improving the business combined with the ability to show initiative and work autonomously.

Working Monday to Friday and reporting to the Manager, Communities & Social Performance, you will:

• Work to strengthen Traditional owner relationship building through your stakeholder management skills including negotiation and influencing
• Be a trusted leader and help to develop team members within the cultural heritage team
• Develop and advise on strategic approaches to strengthen partnerships with Traditional Owners and manage risk
• Provide technical expertise on cultural heritage management matters
• Develop and implement site protection plans
• Manage complex Cultural heritage permits and GIS system

What you will bring

• Heritage Awareness & Understanding
• A current c class drivers licence
• The ability to influence and manage stakeholder relationships
• Technical expertise in Heritage management
• Ability to manage and analyse heritage data
• An Archaeology, Anthropology Degree, Heritage Management, History or equivalent with mining experience

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Experience working with Traditional Owners / Indigenous groups, in relationship management or community engagement capacity

• Demonstrated experience in leading teams in a workforce planning capacity, critical risk management and influencing key decisions.
