About this role

What will you be responsible for?
This role will focus on providing consistent, reliable, and informative financial data analysis and support for management decisions around functional support costs. The purpose of this role is to collaborate with senior leaders, share output from the finance analytics department and provide overall support to the leaders of the global functional support teams.
Through this position:
  • We act as the liaison with senior leadership of all global functions to ensure vital support, training and tools are provided on a consistent basis to support global functional cost management.
  • We perform Data analysis and reporting for all global functional leaders to provide timely, customized analysis and support
  • We develop and provide functional cost management and analysis training materials crafted to facilitate disciplined spend management behaviors for global functional leaders
  • We perform internal and external comparison and benchmark analysis to provide cost insights to the business


In this role you will

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
  • We act as the liaison with senior leadership of all global functions to ensure vital support, training and tools are provided on a consistent basis to support global functional cost management
  • We provide subject matter authority advice on global cost reporting practices and provide consistent, reliable and valuable business partner support.
  • We coordinate regular touchpoints with senior functional leaders across the organization to ensure ongoing partnering and alignment of needs
  • We build and maintain specialist working knowledge of reporting needs within the global functional teams. We build and maintain reports and analysis crafted to meet functional business partner needs and provide insights for better-informed business decisions.
  • We build trust and credibility with functional team members that fosters open communication, collaboration, while providing results for the business
  • We perform Data analysis and reporting for all global functional leaders to provide timely, customized analysis and support
  • We apply data analytics and in-depth finance and accounting knowledge to build meaningful insights and conclusions of trends, risks and opportunities from complex financial information.
  • We understand underlying drivers and operational assumptions of actual, forecasted and planned global financial results and build effective strategies and reporting tools to communicate the business insights to decision makers for all global functions.
  • We direct the Data Analysis process through reporting and analyzing results, working closely with the executives and senior global functional leaders to identify and drive process improvements
  • We develop and provide functional cost management and analysis training materials designed to facilitate spend management behaviors for global functional leaders
  • We develop rapport with global functional leaders as subject matter authority and business liaison for cost management reporting and analysis
  • We develop and deliver cost management training materials for global functional leaders that drives cost management behavior
  • We perform internal and external comparison and benchmark analysis to provide cost insights to the business
  • We perform internal and external comparison and benchmark analysis. to help drive better informed spending decisions
  • We advise and support scenario analysis to better inform the organization and business partners.
  • Other tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • We act as a Business Partner ensuring excellent customer service that drives improved value delivery
  • We lead delivery of ad hoc analysis and reporting to Executive and Finance leadership through the understanding of Newmont's strategy and business
  • We assist in the development and maintenance of a global standard for functional support costs and treatment including the data collection process for functional support cost centers and identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to the process to allow more effective, consistent and reliable data modeling and analysis.

Your training, skills & experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CFA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years including 3 years of experience in a corporate head office financial planning or finance function.
  • Hands-on experience in working and developing BPC products or other similar technology.
  • Mining industry experience preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to do complex analytical work at both a big picture and very detailed level and communicate strategic insight.
  • Expertise with presentation software and ability to build complex data driven presentations
  • Concise communication and a high degree of analytic accuracy is required as much of the information is provided to the senior management group
  • High degree of collaboration and team orientation required
  • The work is complex in nature and the role requires initiative, tact and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to nurture positive relationships.


Working conditions & location

Where you will be located!
  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Position is required to travel to both domestic and international regional office and site locations on a periodic basis.
  • Telephone calls and web-based meetings before and/or after normal business hours are required.


The salary range offered for this role is $ 98,400 to 129,150 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
