Hatch currently has an opportunity for aPlanner & Scheduler to join our established Midstream team in Calgary. The planner/scheduler is responsible to maintain, optimize and monitor progress of the project schedule and progress, ensuring that Hatch procedures and best practices are applied, as appropriate.This position will start as casual or contract part-time with potential to become a permanent full-time position.The successful candidate will be able to handle all scheduling aspects of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Control personnel in the overall planning and scheduling activities on assigned projects;
  • Provide development of project schedules taking into account the project scope, materials lead times, and project complexity;
  • Maintain routine schedules on a required basis;
  • Liaise with project management and project teams on matters relating to planning and scheduling;
  • Monitor schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties and advise the Project Manager/Project Controls Lead for their consideration;
  • Participate in the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and development of schedules; and
  • Participate in the project change management process related to schedule.


Skills and Experience
  • Must be proficient in Primavera P6 with an understanding of EPC Planning principles;
  • 2 to 6 years’ experience in scheduling across all aspects of projects, including engineering design, procurement, and construction;
  • Planning and Scheduling certification or other relevant designation would be an asset;
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Understanding of project management principles, engineering execution and business processes;
  • Experience with manpower resource loading, deliverable progress and earned value management systems would be an asset;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and mitigating skills, verbal and written communication, attention to details, and report writing skills.
