Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Document Controller in order to grow its Brisbane Mining & Minerals group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. This is a full time permanent position based in our office on Edward Street.

A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.

As a key member of the team, you will undertake duties such as, but not limited to:
  • Timely processing of both corporate and project documents, including data entry, scanning, photocopying, distributing and filing as detailed in the appropriate procedures.
  • Maintain Project Document Control databases.
  • Maintain Convero (Document Management) and SharePoint (Document Repository) systems on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the review and development of Document Control Work Instructions and Procedures.
  • QA/QC checking of documents to ensure the format is to Company standards.
  • Ensure that all handover documents are to Client requirements.
  • Follow all Company Work Procedures and Practices.
  • Receive, number, distribute and track project vendor documents.
  • Produce status reports from allocated projects as required on both design deliverables and vendor documentation.
  • Maintain a Customer Service approach when liaising with project personnel, vendors and contractors.
  • Maintain the project filing and controlled revision history for both hard copy and electronic filing on a regular basis.
  • Archiving of project documentation at completion of assigned projects.


Skills / Qualifications

To be the ideal candidate, you will have up to five (5) years of experience in Document Control. While knowledge across mining and minerals projects would be highly advantageous, it is not essential. You will also have:
  • Excellent adminsitration skills
  • A good understanding of Business Management Systems
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Software Packages and Adobe Writer
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills at all levels
  • Be proactive and a quick but patient learner
  • An excellent understanding of overall project progression
