About this role

This is a key position in the Benefits COE that is responsible for program management and will focus both strategically and tactically to ensure programs are consistently led across the organization, follow governmental regulations, and support the business strategy and Total Rewards philosophy. This role advises on the design of the overall benefits strategy and specific plans/projects that aligns to the Employee Experience Strategy and with industry trends and standard methodologies. This position collaborate with the Administration Committee, Payroll, Legal, Outside Consultants and Counsel and supervises multiple vendor relationships.

Your role will consist of

  • Program Manager accountable for leading all aspects of multiple projects running at one time. Responsibilities include requests for proposals (RFPs), business case development, scope definition, project planning, prioritization, partner management, budget management, and change management. (40%)
  • We lead North America Leaves including program design and vendor governance, processes such as disability management including RTW policies, develop programs to run employee absences and related costs effectively, maintain compliance with all laws for CA and US, global oversight of leave programs. (20%)
  • We assist with the development of multi-year global benefits strategy/roadmap ensuring competitiveness, cost efficiency, and legal compliance. Analyze other employer benefits, benchmarking surveys, and employee preferences to propose options/alternative design features and make recommendations aligned with business strategy. (10%)
  • We handle benefits budgets for Canada and U.S. sites, regional office and corporate. Develops annual budget, builds processes and assesses variance on a monthly basis. (10%)
  • Assists on acquisitions, divestitures, and new locations world-wide by participating in the efforts on due diligence data gathering, analysis, recommendations and implementation of action plans. (10%)
  • We are the escalation point for HR Operations group regarding benefit issues. (10%)

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Knowledge:
  • Ability to work with sophisticated benefit plans/programs/projects.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of project management and budgeting concepts and techniques is required.
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree required

Experience:
  • Minimum 8-10 years of meaningful experience.
  • Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated independent problem solver and proactive solution orientation.
  • Demonstrated solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills.
  • Must have ability to effectively utilize MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


Working conditions and location

  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Must be able to sit, use computer and telephone equipment for long periods of time.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.


The salary range offered for this role is $ 98,400 - 129,150 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
