Role Details

Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking expressions of interest for Assistant Mining Surveyors to join their Underground Mining Department at Granny Smith Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Surveyor, you will contribute to the achievement of production & development targets of underground & surface mining operations by completing formal survey training & demonstrating acquired knowledge in the work environment by assisting in the provision of a competent survey control service.

This role is offered on 8 days on and 6 days off roster and is FIFO from Perth or DIDO for the local community.

Duties of the role:

• Be organized and prepared to undertake all assigned tasks by the Senior Surveyor
• Hand overs and technical support to be shown to the team
• Demonstration of excellent housekeeping standards.
• Enhance the capability of the company to consistently achieve mining production & development targets relevant to training undertaken by applying learned knowledge in the field using skills gained under the guidance of the survey team.
• Ensure good maintenance of company assets by conducting regular pre-start inspections

About You:

You will have:

• Completion of year 12
• Completion of Surveyor studies desirable but not necessary
• Previous exposure to underground mining practices and mining software is an advantage
• Valid C Class drivers' licence essential.
