Role Details:
Gold Fields Australia is a leader in delivery of renewable energy projects at its mining operations and is currently seeking a Senior Engineer: Projects to join our Perth based Operations Support & Technology department.

Reporting to the Manager: Energy, you will be responsible for the effective management and supervision of project engineering related activities to enable achievement of the budgeted or contracted energy projects portfolio, meeting all quality standards including cost, schedule, safety and environment. Support contract relations with energy providers and provide support to strategic energy planning for the Gold Fields Australia operations.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, working on a 5 days on, 2 days off (Monday - Friday) roster in our Perth based office with site visits as required.

Duties of the role:
  • Project engineering functions related to the power generation, solar, wind, battery and storage projects, electrical infrastructure, and commercial supply of energy within the Australasian region;
  • Support the management of commercial arrangements and relations between Gold Fields and suppliers;
  • Coordinate all facets of projects; including developing and utilizing appropriate processes and guidelines;
  • Ensure consistency and transferability of technical work ensuring that design intent is implemented in an efficient and cost effective manner;
  • Prepare and distribute reports on relevant activities including project status, milestone achievement and identification of barriers to timely goal completion;
  • Prepare quality submissions for capital expenditure using appropriate templates and methodology;
  • Adhere to procedures, processes, and technology to ensure delivery of projects;
  • Develop a strong network with engineers and technical personnel to ensure adequate transfer of knowledge & information;
  • Provide expert guidance and technical input into project scopes.


About You:

You will have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Post graduate qualification in business or project management would be highly regarded
  • Financial Management experience including formulation and adherence to approved budget would be advantageous to your application
  • Project/Cost Management Training would be an asset
  • Proven experience in mining operations in a similar role with good understanding of how the business manages energy, industry technologies and equipment
  • Demonstrated level of competency in relevant software applications including Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory obligations including environmental and heritage
  • Leadership experience, including performance development and change management
