Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our Dynamic Earth Solutions group, supporting the Geotechnical team in Brisbane.

Our Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) group forms an integrated core that provides clients with outstanding project execution through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise. As the successful candidate you will;

  • Maintain a strong focus on personal safety and the safety of staff and contractors under your supervision
  • Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines, designers and project administration
  • Scope, manage and participate in field investigations for projects in Australia.
  • Interpret field data to develop geotechnical and geological models
  • Conduct technical analysis using some of the following software, Geostudio (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W…), Bentley (gINT, GCT, PLAXIS, SoilVision), Rocscience (Slide2D/3D, RS2, RS3, Settle3D…), CAD, GIS, Muk3D, Leapfrog.
  • Prepare both factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
  • Liaise with prospective clients, help scope projects and prepare new proposals


You will bring to the role;

  • A degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Demonstrated competency in managing and executing field investigations
  • Experience in insitu testing and laboratory testing
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
  • Experience using packages such as gINT and GeoStudio
  • RPEQ certification will be well regarded
