Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Manager to lead the development of their new open-pit mine in Ontario. Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a vital role managing all mining aspects of operations, engineering, geology and maintenance to ensure a successful ramp-up. This is an exciting opportunity to use your mining and leadership expertise to contribute in the successfully development of a world-class mine. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the development of all operational activities and ensure strict compliance to all health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments and the leadership team to create and implement operational strategies aligned with overall business goals.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to track performance, participate in developing the Operational Readiness Plan.
  • Development and execute business plans as needed.
  • Coach and mentor the mine operations team at all stages, over-see onboarding and ensure appropriate training strategies and schedules to safely support business needs.

Minimum Requirements
  • A degree in Engineering, Professional Engineering (Ontario) certification preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in open pit mining, with at least 4 years at a management level.
  • Advanced knowledge of open pit mining processes and requirements, experience with start-ups would be an asset.
  • Comprehensive leadership capabilities with experience developing solid community and stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven successful track record of leading high performance teams.
