Database Specialist - Geology Systems
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday - Friday
An opportunity exists for a motivated, agile Database Specialist to work within the geology team assisting with managing geological information from our exploration tenements across Australia and overseas.
As the Database Specialist you will work autonomously and take ownership of your work. You will contribute ideas to improve efficiencies of the team and organisation. You will receive mentoring, guidance, and upskilling in new technologies. You will take part in and lead business improvements projects, and work within a dynamic, multicultural team. Enhancements to the data workflow and issue resolutions that you implement will help the Exploration team with fast paced data collection.

Key accountabilities will include:
- Coach/mentor geologists and field technicians in appropriate data management processes, ensuring workflows and business processes are followed
- Assist in the supervision, maintenance and development of our geological information management system (acQuire), including license management
- Process associated drilling and surface data
- Liaise with internal personnel and external providers to ensure they maintain the highest quality data
- Provide support to site and Perth based teams as required
- Develop new database reporting tools as required
- Identify and investigate opportunities for process improvement
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experience using acQuire or other database systems
- Degree or equivalent in Geology and/or Computing
- Strong SSMS skills
- Previous experience within an exploration and/or mining environment
- High level computing skills, with moderate to strong level of knowledge in coding (e.g. VBA, Python)
- Highly motivated with good communication skills
- High level of autonomy and independence
- Capability to support and train users
- Devise and test improvements to applications
