Mill Mechanic (Millwright)

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Colorado

Hourly-$30-$37 DOE

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining, repairing of milling equipment such as conveyors, jaw crusher, ball mills, rod mills, floatation cells, pumps, piping, bearings, shaft alignment, valves and seals.

Safety

All duties and responsibilities must be conducted in a safe manner and within a safe work environment. Therefore, it is a requirement to comply with all Health and Safety requirements established by the company.

Key Responsibilities

•Bearing replacements

•Shaft alignments

•Welding, Arc, Mig and Tig

•Pump rebuild

•Piping layout

•Fabrication

•Cutting torch use

•Adhere to company policies, MSHA standards and state regulations.

•Safety reporting of any faulty equipment in the mill to your supervisor

•Near miss and safety incident reporting.

•Communication between departments and other supervisors

•Completing work orders

Summary of Qualifications

•Three years + of mill wright work around ball mills, pumps, crushers and conveyors.

•Basic Math

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Knowledge of Jaw crusher and equipment

•Knowledge of ball mill and rod mills

•Knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps

•Knowledge of bearings, shaft alignment and lubrication.

•Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities

•Ability to work long hours

•Ability to be on call for maintenance call outs.

•Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs

•Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with a team

•Ability to work in extreme temperature's such as -40 or 90*F within an humid environment.

•Ability to work at high elevation(11,000 feet), lower oxygen content

•Ability to stand or sit for longs hours

•Ability to use basic hand tools

•Basic Troubleshooting skills of mill equipment.

•Effective decision making principles

•5S and lean manufacturing considered a plus
