About the Role
WorkPac are currently working with a trusted client based out of the Gold Coast area who are a true industry leader in the field of manufacturing and technology-based enhancements towards mobile and plant assets. Our client utilises best in field technology and have a strong focus towards international expansion. In the role of Engineer you will design and draft new products in an manufacturing environment and collaborate with the production teams to drive improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, design and draft new products and product upgrades such as structural and mechanical chassis, hydraulic drive and control systems.
  • Drafting in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, generating technical manufacturing drawings and working models.
  • Drive and test loaders and assist in proving concepts and gaining standards compliance.
  • Writing scope of works documents and editing instruction manuals.
  • Inspects designs and finished products for compliance with job specifications.
  • Undertake risk and issues identification, assessment and mitigation activities by ensuring all items are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the production team to improve manufacturing processes, product design improvements, development of new tooling & fixtures and implementing manufacturing procedures.
  • Ensure that all developed products meet local legislative requirements and where necessary for new prospective international and domestic markets.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering or related field.
  • Understanding and ability to use 2D and 3D modelling software - Preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Knowledge in electrical and hydraulic schematic drawings and design.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, machining and assembly methods and principles.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP Systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical directions.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of skid steer machines, excavators, and attachments.
