Job Details

The ISO Project Manager is be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementing and maintaining ASARCO's integrated ISO Management System, including a variety of health, safety and environmental programs. This is a regional position overseeing three different sites in Arizona including the Mission Mine, Ray Mine, and Silver Bell. The ISO Project Manager will work with all levels of management, including corporate and site General Managers, and local Health, Safety and Environmental departments, as well as with operations throughout the implementation, maintenance and monitoring phases of ISO. The ISO Project Manager will have 3 ISO Coordinators on the team reporting them.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the ISO team with the implementation, certification and maintenance of the ISO Integrated Management System for environmental, occupational health and safety programs, and risk management.
  • Oversee the establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining, measuring and monitoring activities associated with the Integrated Management System.
  • Oversee management of the field personnel, consultants and contractors.
  • Mange the ISO team with the implementation, certification and maintenance of the ISO Integrated Management System for environmental, occupational health & safety programs, and risk management.
  • Establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining, measuring and monitoring activities associated with assigned elements of the Integrated Management System.
  • Manage field personnel, consultants and contractors.
  • Work with local management and employees across ASARCO to implement and comply with the Integrated Management System.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and assist with ISO training.
  • Ensure that the company's ISO compliance activities and processes are effectively deployed in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Conduct regular ISO audits to ensure compliance and identify standards that require attention.
  • Provide regular implementation updates on the progress of ISO to various ASARCO ISO committees.
  • Oversee the implementation of the HSE Informational Management software.

Education and Work Experience
  • ISO 14001, 30001, and 45001 experience are desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Safety or in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Fifteen + years of relevant experience, including 5+ in ISO, and 10-15+ years in health and safety and/or environmental.
  • Quality assurance, risk management and compliance experience preferred
  • Prior experience in the mining industry would be highly advantageous - surface or underground
  • Prior project manager experience preferred.
  • Strong familiarity to MSHA, OSHA, State, and other regulatory agencies.

Special Skills and/or Knowledge Required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to function and excel in a multi-project/multi-discipline environment.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability of deliver required results in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in speaking and writing in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Travel - Up to 25%

Special Equipment/Computer Knowledge Required
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, EXCEL, Cority and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of global data management systems/designs/platforms and their applications to environmental data management an asset.
