About this role

What will you be responsible for?
The, Water Technology Manager is responsible for process water management and treatment systems and technologies on green field and brown field projects in North America, South America, APAC and West Africa. Provides water management consulting at the Malozemoff Technical Facility, provides operations support and are domain specialists to the larger global Newmont operations clients, specifically as it applies to water management, water treatment technology and geochemistry.

Safety and Health

Promote safety as a value at Newmont. Act safely on a personal basis and encourage safe practices with others in the team. Seek after "safety first" in design of difficult/complex and hazardous chemical and mechanical systems
Business Results

Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with Newmont Metallurgical Services (NMS), Newmont Projects and Regional Operations personnel and seek collaboration in participating in and/or managing Stage Gate projects. Adhere to Stage-Gate standard practices, procedures and protocols. Manage the use of information developed in these projects.
Assist global metallurgical operations in implementation and integration of new and existing process technologies, water treatment methods and milling and heap leaching operations with a goal of achieving the lowest cost and highest benefit ratio.
Perform duties as Metallurgy Technical Services representative on Newmont Projects and activities
Design laboratory and pilot plant technology evaluations according to stagegate and specific project requirements
Execute pilot plant operations as required
Design, maintain and report on geochemical testing programs for mine waste behavior
Design and manage inputs and evaluations of hydrogeology, geochemistry and climate to site wide water balance models for operations, projects and expansions.And be responsible for recommendations to achieve site and Newmont water management objectives
Contribute to closure objectives development, planning and execution
Commissioning and Start-up activities (as required)
Operations efficiency/Excellence Programs
Apply water chemistry and water treatment technologies and applications
Help guide global metallurgical operations in evaluation and implementation of new and existing process technologies and water treatment methods with a goal of achieving the lowest cost and highest benefit ratio.
Participate as a team member of site driven Full Potential programs geared to extract maximum value through operations efficiency and value creation projects.
Provide subject area specific operations support to ensure the sites are meeting or exceeding their business plans.
Be responsible for the management of water portion of Company assigned tasks.
Relationships

The Manager - Process, Water Technology will be working with the following Peer Group, Engineering Manager, Manager NMS, Process Managers, Process Superintendent, Chief Metallurgist, Senior Metallurgical Consultant, Senior Operations Engineers, Consulting Geologist, Project Engineers, Site water coordinators, regional and global steering committees and cross functional strategy development teams
Develop and maintain relationships with engineering, geochemistry, water balance and water technologyconsultants that will benefit Newmont water project development activities
Develop lines of communication with external departments and shared services.
Maintain communication with other companies, universities, government departments and non-government agencies related to metallurgy and water technology, which could benefit the company.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

B.S. degree in Hydrometallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing or related field. Sophisticated degrees are considered a plus.
Experience should include a minimum of 5 years combined experience in operations, project development and/or project management in the Au, Cu or base metal extractive industries
Must have expertise in water chemistry and knowledge of current water treatment technologies.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems through innovation and "in an unexpected way' thinking are valued qualities.
Language skills, other than English, though not a requirement, will be looked at favorably. Especially Spanish, French and Dutch.

The position is located in the Englewood MTF office.
Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.

The salary range offered for this role is $ 98,400 - 129,150 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
