We are looking for a Process Engineer/ Chemical Engineer/ Metallurgist to join the Fixed Plant

Process Engineering team at our Greater Brockman precinct. In this role, you will provide technical support and leadership for operations and maintenance staff, assisting in improving plant availability and performance to maximise plant throughput whilst minimising the associated costs.

Greater Brockman accounts for nearly one-third of Rio Tinto's iron ore production, is a key contributor to the Pilbara Blend product and comprises of four sites:
  • Brockman 4 (B4) 46Mpta dry crushing & screening plant & TLO
  • Nammuldi Below Water Table (NBWT) 44Mtpa wet processing plant & TLO
  • Brockman 2 (B2) 10Mtpa dry crushing & screening plant
  • Nammuldi AWT 10Mtpa dry crushing + screening plant

Reporting to the Senior Engineer you will:
  • Foster a culture of zero harm
  • Ensure plant capacity is fully optimised and production targets are met
  • Perform plant troubleshooting, optimisation, and continuous improvement
  • Provide technical support and advice to fixed plant operations and maintenance crews and frontline
  • leaders
  • Identify and deliver process and safety improvement opportunities
  • Report on daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance
  • Provide support to shutdowns as required

What you'll bring
  • A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Understanding of unit operations of mineral processing equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • A 'C' class manual driving licence

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities. he Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass.
