Our client is seeking a Senior Mine Engineer with ten plus years of experience in hard rock mining planning and operations. Successful candidates should have project delivery experience and be well versed open pit hard rock mining from a Project Delivery and from an Operations point of view. This position will report to the Senior Project Manager of Mining and Concentrate

Operations and will have global responsibility.

The Senior Project Engineer will support project, operational and corporate stakeholders with high level mining engineering expertise to ensure the success of global lithium business. The role will lead the mining engineering function for the portfolio of growth options, undertake due diligence of potential growth targets, and oversee the operational performance of our operated and other ownership operations. Candidates must be well versed in fundamental understanding of the unit operations of the open pit, hard rock mining projects including, but not limited to:

•Mine Safety

•Mine establishment including construction of erosion and sediment control, haul roads, pre-strip activities, and waste rock storage facility establishment;

•Explosives management, drilling and blasting;

•Mine planning and grade control;

•Mine equipment selection

•Maintenance scheduling

•Determining staffing and equipment needs to complete mining operations successfully

•Managing mining operations and supervising mining projects and staff to ensure projects are moving forward on schedule and within budget parameters

•Maintaining mining equipment including troubleshooting, upgrading and purchasing mining equipment to complete specific mining projects.

Senior Project Engineer Job Responsibilities:

•Work with our Chief Geologist to develop geologic models, mine plans, crewing and permitting schedules

•Perform economic analysis for leasing or purchasing equipment

•Supporting selection of major contractor packages including drilling and blasting, pre-strip, and mining

•Develop and manage the mine plan

•Develop and monitor annual mine budgets

•Develop and maintain an accurate plan of the mine with various surveying techniques and mine planning software; provide accurate survey and grade control for pit mining operations

•Design/layout organization of waste dumps, haul roads, etc. while maintaining accurate progress maps.

•Manage the process outcomes of third-party activities including engineering consultants, equipment vendors, construction partners, and the like.

•Integrate with other engineering disciplines to advance overall project safety, design, schedule, and budget.

•Lead or participates in important workstreams including HAZID, HAZOP, reliability and maintenance assessments, commissioning, process optimization.

•Optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures.

•Assemble reports to document process status and changes.

•Create and track metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.

•Communicate findings and proposals to upper management.

•Create and maintain internal safety and quality standards while adhering to all MSHA policies and regulations.

•Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Senior Project Engineer Qualifications/Skills:

•Ten plus years' experience with professional engineering credentials preferred

•Experience with large projects in the range of $150M+ for mine establishment.

•Experience with mine planning, design and scheduling software

•Strong working knowledge of mineral reserve calculation methods in hard-rock.

•Extensive experience in analyzing, interpreting, and applying mining inputs to mine project development

•Experience in the safety management of mine development projects and mining operations

•Experience with mine operations, studies, and development projects

•Familiarity and understanding of industry compliant reporting requirements

•Excellent analytical and math skills.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Ability to persuade others to adopt world-class practices.

•Strong attention to detail.

•Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.

•Proficient with computer and information technology.

•Knowledge of process engineering software systems.

•Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

Successful candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Environmental

Engineering or Geological Engineering, and 10 plus years of experience as a Mining Engineer with professional engineering credentials preferred.

Ideal candidates should also have operations experience (5-10 years), EPC (multiple large capital projects), as a Senior Mining Engineer in a pit mining environment.
