Utilities Engineering Coordinator

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to work at one of several plants. He/she will be responsible for demonstrating safety as a number one priority and will participate in area safety efforts. Plant assignments vary and include such areas as implementation of new FSMA regulatory standards and/or oversight of relevant labs. As the Engineering Coordinator, you will provide relief for Production Supervisors, Production Coordinators, Production Managers, and Production Unit Managers giving exposure to and learning multiple roles. Training plant personnel on new equipment, procedures, and processes along with other duties as assigned provides continued growth and career development.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Capital Plan Preparation and Capital Project Execution

•Leads Continuous Improvement and cost reduction efforts

•Coordinates Engineering

•Oversees the MOC Process

•Process and safety improvements

•Technical Leadership

•Technical oversight of relevant labs

•Supervise and Develop direct reports as assigned

•Continue to support and maintain all FDA, GMP, regulatory & quality standards

•Provide relief for Production Supervisors, Production Manager, and Production Unit Managers

•Perform other duties as assigned

Activities:

•Prepare capital plan, and coordinate capital projects

•Engineering standards compliance

•Lead Continuous Improvement program for plant areas

•Provide Direction on Technical activities in the area

•Assist in optimization of operational plant efficiency and production rates

•Coordinate and leads acid cleaning requirements within the plant

•Identify and follow through with cost savings and efficiency improvement projects

•Assist with Reliability efforts

•Establish and manage development plans for direct reports

•Provide technical training to operators or staff

•Perform weekend duty

•Assist with investigation and resolution of customer complaints

•Support ISO 9000 efforts, including Internal Auditing

•Active participant and champion of the RCA process

Required Skills and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering

•Generally requires 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial/manufacturing/plant environment

•Demonstrated leadership skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

•1+ year front line industrial supervisory experience

•1+ year industrial/manufacturing operational experience

•2-3 years project management experience

•Experience with FSMA and FDA regulated production

•Demonstrated capacity to perform at a higher level
