ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the E&I Supervisor, the Millwright will perform their duties as a member of the Electrical & Instrumentation Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. They will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all surface fixed equipment;
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair any equipment under the responsibility of the Energy and Infrastructure Department;
  • Evaluate requirements for the assigned work and ensure that they are complete: tools, procedures, materials, etc.;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Apply the Millwright best practices for all of the work undertaken;
  • Advise the supervisor of any cost control issue or ideas when observed.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Relevant mechanical diploma;
  • 5+ years of experience working underground as a Millwright;
  • Should have a thorough understanding of A/C, hydraulics, intake fans, pump stations, cement plants, compressors and electrical system 12/24 volts troubleshooting;
  • Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) Certification, High Pressure Certification and WBC Certification are considered assets;
  • Underground training certification or equivalent such as Mining Modules (1,2,3,4,5 & 7) and Common Core required;
  • Meet the physical requirements to perform the duties of the job;
  • Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).

Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities of the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
