Job Description

Purchase all materials, goods, and services for all operations, maintenance, and support functions.

Job Responsibilities

• Process requisitions into Purchase Orders for the procurement of materials and services with attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate logistics and trace orders until delivery is complete or canceled.
• Provide timely feedback to end users on status on orders until delivery to site.
• Utilize competitive processes in procurement activities to achieve cost savings for the company.
• Demonstrate professionalism and maintain adequate internal and external relations.
• Strategizes with departments for future procurement requirements.
• Ability to recognize areas of improvement and offer suggestions for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate competency in understanding special purchasing conditions and commercial terms in relation to contracts for the site.
• Perform data entry, typing, filling, and other clerical functions to maintain accurate records.
• Reconcile and resolve inconsistencies in relation to purchase orders; invoices, warehouse receipts, etc.
• Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality and environmental policies.
• Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
• Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
• Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state.
• Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Art in business administration preferred.
• Previous experience with the preparation of request for quotations, quotation analysis, and negotiations.
• General knowledge of mechanical and chemical principles and terminology.
• Knowledge of materials management, logistics, and transportation.
• Knowledge of governmental regulations concerning material shipments..
• Knowledge of computerized purchase order system and tracking with good data processing skills.

Skills

• Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume work environment.
• Strong negotiation skills to work with suppliers to achieve cost savings for the company.
• Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Must have clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
• Must be proficient in computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must be available for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
• Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
• Requires valid driver's license.

Reporting Relationships

Works under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Supervisor.
