About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Supervisor to join our high-performing team in Queenstown. As a Construction Supervisor, your days will be busy managing and supervising construction activity. This 'hands on' role will require you to provide leadership to your crew by planning, offering clear direction and monitoring activities whilst working alongside the team in the field. You will also:
  • Be responsible to ensure all work is completed to the satisfaction of our customers
  • Ensure that all Zero Harm and production targets are met
  • Provide clear records and reports on all activities undertaken by Downer staff and subcontractors
  • Offer coaching and training to your crew to grow their capabilities

This is a permanent, full time position, primarily working Monday - Friday however flexibility to pick up occasional night shifts, weekend work and on-call shifts may be required.

About you

To be successful in this challenging and exciting role, you will have proven management/ supervisory experience, where you have been accountable for a team and delivered on projects successfully. You will also bring with you the following:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated through initiative use
  • Advanced planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to drive projects through to completion within time, budget, quality standards, and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated of leadership behaviours that empower others and achieved desired results
  • A Class 4/5 Drivers Licence with WTR endorsements preferable Previous experience supervising Civil projects, including road maintenance projects desired
