Position summary
Downer has a long history of delivering transport infrastructure projects under a variety of contracting models. Services include the design and construction of light rail, heavy rail, signalling, track and station works, rail safety technology, bridges and roads.

Reporting into the Commercial Manager we have an opportunity for a Contract Administrator to join our Infrastructure Projects team. In this role you will manage the daily Subcontract Administration and financial activities on the Eyre Peninsula project which will include, Subcontract Management, assessment of Variations and extension of time Claims, Payment Claim assessments and cost management procurement, including assistance with the preparation of tenders, whilst ensuring compliance with Infrastructure Projects policies and procedures, stakeholder requirements and statutory regulations.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Support the operational business units through efficient use of Microsoft Office and other related software.
  • Provide high quality customer service in all day- to- day administrative support related activities.
  • Arrange and maintain document management system for operational business units.
  • Update Contract Summary information for monthly reporting purposes.
  • Assist with the preparation of subcontractor agreements and with the preparation of invoices to clients.
  • Prepare and / or collate weekly / fortnightly timesheets for wages personnel and submit to the Payroll Office within established time frames.
  • Assist with the preparation of tenders and create new supplier forms.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships and resolve issues as required e.g. payment terms, credit limits.
  • Work proactively with the client on issues, collaborate on solutions and continuous improvement, provide regular reporting, and meet information sharing requirements.
  • Work in accordance with Downer's values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding zero harm, client, people and financial accountabilities.

ABOUT YOU
  • Tertiary Qualification or diploma in business administration or related discipline with experience gained from an AP or AR role or contract administration
  • Experience in the civil construction and maintenance industry in an administrative or similar role will be highly regarded.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability in liaising and building relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Proven experience working effectively autonomously as well as within a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload as well working MS and accounting systems.
