We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary AB.


Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Strong commitment to safety and all site Policies and Procedures
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to teammates
  • Leading crew talks and safety meetings
  • Provide supervision coverage when the Pit Shifter is absent
  • Assist with shift tie-downs
  • Direct pit utility work, signage, cable, and de-watering
  • Coordinate shovel/cable moves in the pit
  • Assist drillers with steel/bit changes
  • Assist and lead environmental clean up
  • Assist with blasting, clearing, and guarding
  • Operate equipment as required by supervisor

Qualifications and Experience
  • 3 - 5 years of open pit mining experience
  • 2 - 5 years of related work experience (team lead or lead hand)
  • Experience with electric mining equipment and trailing cables
  • Experience with haulage (777,785,793 Cat) and mine support equipment (D10 dozers, 16H graders, small excavator, loader)
  • Open pit blast experience considered an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated team player and positive example for others
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Clear understanding of mine planning and ability to achieve daily targets
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license required
  • Valid OFA level 1 First Aid ticket required
  • Valid BC Open Pit Shift Boss ticket preferred
