Metallurgical Engineering Technician
Location: Columbus, MT
SUMMARY OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Location: Columbus, MT
SUMMARY OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Track and report daily smelter production , inventory, and reagent
- Plan and schedule the deliveries of plant
- Monitor the performance of plant scrubbing, gypsum precipitation, and cooling systems, which includes using various analytical
- Assist operations and metallurgical engineers with recommendations on setting plant parameters.
- Prepare daily / weekly / monthly smelter samples for laboratory analysis .
- Prepare monthly smelter
- Maintain monthly plant inventory and metal
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BS in Chemistry or relevant discipline with 2 years of relevant working experience, OR a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience in an analytical lab or mineral processing facility.
- Demonstrated adherence to safety programs with a strong safety record.
- Experience with process quality and inventory control.
- Strong computer skills to include Excel, databases, and plant data historians.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with excellent people, problem-solving, and communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- A general understanding of smelter operations including wet gas handing systems would be helpful.
- General knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Understanding of company policies, procedures, and standards
