Purpose

Manage "end to end" the procurement of non-strategic/ transactional services on a category basis across the region. Work closely with the Site Supply Chain Managers, Category Analysts and Contract Administrators to develop consistent, efficient and effective processes for transactional service spend, which harnesses the opportunity to consolidate requirements on a regional basis and drive value for the business. Supports the team in identifying and capturing new enterprise spend areas to add value and drive cost savings.

Essential Duties

  • In conjunction with stakeholders, responsible for the development and implementation of procurement strategy and processes to effectively manage via contract, non-strategic and transactional services spend.
  • Coordinate the service contracting yearly needs with the end-user areas as well as identify and develop suppliers in the market to support commercial and operational needs.
  • Interface with key client stakeholders, ensuring effective visibility of the purchasing vision, and build and maintain strong working relationships with end-users. Ensure client satisfaction.
  • Cooperate and provide support to the Category Manager - Services in promoting the holistic management of services procurement within North America across the service spend profile.
  • Organize and supervise presentations and training courses for end users and contractors to communicate Newmont contract policies and procedures.
  • Workload is primarily focused on service contracts and purchasing for like categories including but not limited to; construction, engineering, maintenance and other service areas.
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual conditions, and coordinate with contractors to acquire services according to operational requirements, seeking the best possible price, terms of execution, and quality conditions.
  • Drive the Supplier Risk Management Regional program working with suppliers on prequalification, onboarding, management plans, spend and performance management.
  • Provide advice, answer queries from contractors and/or users, and train internal and external users on contracts policies and procedures.
  • Develop skills and abilities of stakeholders to improve the end to end procurement process, including development of quality scope of works
  • Provide career guidance and act as a champion and mentor for all resources in the supply chain organization

Training & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five (3-5) + years of directly related procurement experience or equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary
  • Mining experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent enterprise level software packages is necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels with an organization


Working Conditions

This role will be located at the Cripple Creek & Victor mine site.

This is a 12-month assignment.

The salary range offered for this role is $ 83,600- 109,725 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
