Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations. This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, New Hampshire, Michigan, Illinois and New York. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the position shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.

Description

Responsible for the day to day operational interface with Suppliers, Maintenance and Site Operations. Responsible for Contract negotiation & execution, Process Issue resolution, vendor performance, and general communication with the Operations. The categories and vendors for which this individual is responsible are usually regional or lower risk vendors.
  • Ability to effectively execute Strategic plans as developed by Category Planning
  • Negotiate commercial terms and develop contracts and pricing for categoryresponsibilities
  • Maintain cost management techniques and understand the respective categorymarket and industry cost drivers and hold vendors accountable
  • Prepare analysis and plans for negotiations and lead in the negotiations
  • Utilize negotiation skills to develop agreements and pricing to create the best valuefor the company
  • Work with Category Planning and Analytics to show total cost of ownership. Workwith vendors to drive for continuous improvements
  • Seeks solutions to minimize routine purchase transactions, anticipate and effectivelyremove issues/concerns on behalf of the Operations with the suppliers for thecategories in given responsibility
  • Provide resources and guidance to customers regarding procurement and contractingprocess while managing related activities and requirements
  • Effective management of each suppliers to KPIs and take appropriate action (aging,on-time delivery, portal use, etc.
  • Maintain ownership of procure to pay processes and issues for assigned categories
  • Perform other duties as requested


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree AND five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting,Engineering or related field, OR
  • Master's degree AND three (3) years of experience in supply chain and/or contractnegotiation / development
  • Understand, explain and monitor Market indices and changes within the market & how theyimpact the category
  • Become knowledgeable on the key technical aspects as well as the primary drivers ofimportance for the customers. Listen, understand and challenge stakeholders needs & translate into actionable plans
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams in information gathering and issue resolution collaboration
  • Be able to lead by indirect influence
  • Ability to provide direct feedback and encourage others to challenge themselves, offerpraise and motivation to team members
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain strongrelationships with FCX Customers and Vendors
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills (listening, interpreting, empathizing, challenging)
  • Effectively utilize customer service skills to drive understanding and develop value


Preferred Qualifications:
  • System and Process capabilities and proficiencies: CAS, SAP, Commercial T&C's, ContractWriting / templates
  • Be able to develop and implement Should-cost modeling for multiple categories
  • Significant experience in managing multiple $5M+ categories in the Mining, Industrial,Heavy Manufacturing, etc. industries
  • Experience presenting to leadership around Category Responsibilities


Criteria/Conditions:
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator.Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor,manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses,safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, glovesand any other protective equipment as required.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use ofmandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed byapplicable state laws
