Purpose

Senior Counsel to address and coordinate legal analysis of all kind of agreements, determine its legal viability, legal risk assessment, supervising compliance with internal and external regulation in the execution process.

Responsibilities

To coordinate external firms services, participating in the legal analysis of agreements and corporate affairs and public notaries.

To coordinate procedures and formalities with public notaries in Mexico City and other states in Mexico

To assist the operation in the statement and obtaining authorizations and official confirmations with competent authorities in regulatory, corporate and operational matters, and the viability of operation projects.

To provide legal advice to all the operational and/or administrative areas in Mexico City and Sites, under regulatory frame and internal policies. Day to day advice to the operation of the Sites in general legal matters. To collaborate with Business Integrity and Compliance and/or Internal Audit.

To coordinate signature and execution of corporate documents, such as shareholders meetings, contracts and general legal documents. To collaborate with S&ER and work jointly with the Legal Sustainability and Land Manager in the attention of matters raised by Community Relations.

To collaborate with other areas in joint activities. Privacy and Personal Data Protection regulation knowledge

Requirements

  • Fluid English language, business level, with legal drafting background.
  • Handle multiple deadlines and manage short delivery times and responsibilities.
  • Analysis ability. Argumentative and negotiating ease. Teamwork.


Experience

  • At least 7 years of post-graduate legal experience, 5 years drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, at least 2 years in a transnational company.
  • General knowledge in environmental matters.
  • Notions on Agrarian law
  • Desirable experience in extractive sector
  • Desirable experience in public notary
  • Excellent drafting skills


Professional Education

  • License to practice law, desirable Master degree in Corporate Law or alike.
  • Desirable, qualifications in contracts and corporate law.
