Location: Yerington, Nevada

Rotation: Two weeks on - 1 week off

Shift Length: 12 hours

Requirement:
  • 2 Years experience operating a scoop, tramer or mucker


Job Summary:

The primary role of the miner is to operate mining equipment to load, haul and dump ore or waste from development and/or production are in a safe, efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General
  • Refuel, check coolant and engine and hydraulic oils, lubricate all points and complete standard daily check forms and drives equipment to and from work area.
  • Visually inspects, sounds, scales and washes dow work area, if required.
  • Operates manual and remote scoop tram to load bucket with ore/waste: hauls to dump or loads onto truck, and transports mine supplies.
  • Advances vent tubing, installs or removes air and water pipes to facilitate own work.
  • Operate traffic controls signals where applicable and respond to signals to prevent a vehicle accident
  • Report progress and any unusual occurrences to supervisor
  • Maintains working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Health and Safety:
  • Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
  • Following Company health and safety standards and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor
  • Responsible for the use and maintenance of all safety equipment, i.e. Lanyards, warning signals and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation.
  • Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protect equipment.

  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to make decisions quickly
  • Good Communications skills
