Reporting to the Manager of Product within RACE21™, the Project Coordinator will provide project coordination practices including management of project costs and change management for Teck's innovation-driven efficiency program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
⦁ Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
⦁ Arrange weekly meetings to prepare accurate and timely reporting of project costs to key partners, including: Digital Director, Manager of Product, Product Leaders, Accounting, and the Budgeting & Forecasting Team
⦁ Support set-up and implementation of Project Controls management systems, processes and workflows, and staffing of the team
⦁ Assist with preparation of the overall project level cost reporting and variances including status reports, cost trending, and cost analysis
⦁ Support the development, presentation and approval of the Digital project budgets by aligning the project estimates and procurement plan
⦁ Support the analysis of project cost impact and delays, and review of periodic project cost updates.
⦁ Prepare and submit monthly project accrual costs in coordination with Product Leaders
⦁ Review detailed costs and actively resolve cost discrepancies as needed
⦁ Prepare monthly short-term cash forecast for Treasury.
⦁ Provide monthly project variance analysis and an early warning to Digital management on cost variances to the approved baseline/forecast for all Digital projects.
⦁ Acts as a focal point of contact for Digital in acquiring detailed project cost information, including invoices, payments, accruals, etc.
⦁ Perform change management functions and maintain change management records of scope changes, trends, and variances.
⦁ Continually review, maintain and ensure the data integrity and credibility of the information contained in the Digital forecast workbooks and any other associated cost files.
⦁ Assist with integration of scheduling and planning activities with the project teams, external consultants and internal groups, to develop and update detailed schedules.
⦁ Assist with integration of progress and performance activities.
⦁ At project completion, assist with the development and recording of the project’s historical cost information and “lessons learned”, for use on future projects
⦁ Develop cost reports and track project-level costs for Product Leaders
⦁ Prepares and coordinates monthly project forecasts and variance explanations in consultation with Product Leaders.
⦁ Submits project costs and forecast reports to the RACE21 Budgeting & Forecasting Team by the deadline dates.
⦁ Ensures Digital team project budgeting and forecasting complies and aligns with RACE21 Budgeting & Forecasting practices and guidance.
⦁ Collaborates with RACE21 Budgeting and Forecasting Team on annual, monthly, and periodic budgeting and forecasting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
⦁ 5+ years of confirmed experience in project coordination and cost control
⦁ 3+ years of Excel (e.g. Pivot tables, charts, etc.)
⦁ Familiarity with Power BI and other reporting tools
⦁ Validated skills in the areas of cost control, cost system application, planning, progress measurement and project budgeting
⦁ Experience in Agile project management is strongly preferred
⦁ Strong coordination, communication (verbal and written) and social skills with diverse partners
⦁ Strong ability to handle contending priorities in order to get the job done
⦁ Strong understanding of project management, implementation and coordination
