Process Operator
Reports to: Mill Shift Supervisor
Location: Colorado
Hourly: $27.00 - $35.00
Position Summary
This position requires safe and efficient operation of one or more, unit processes to achieve defined operating targets. These processes include, crushing, grinding, screening, flotation, thickening, filtration and control room operation.
Safety
All duties and responsibilities must be conducted in a safe manner and within a safe work environment. Therefore, it is a requirement to comply with all Health and Safety requirements established by company.
Key Responsibilities
•Operation of one or more unit processes
•Reagent mixing and handling
•Monitoring equipment performance
•Monitoring and controlling reagent, water and/or slurry flow rates
•Checking pumps and valves
•Demonstrating effective safety leadership within a team environment and promoting environmental awareness in all work or task related duties
•Ensuring required documentation, logs and reports are up to date and complete
•Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in work areas
•Conduct training and provide mentorship to new hires
•Working with and assisting the maintenance team (as required) to ensure equipment is in optimal operating condition to avoid unnecessary downtime or delays
•Promptly informing co-workers and supervisors of any recognized safety or operational issues
•Working with co-workers in a friendly and respectful manner
•Performing other duties as required
Summary of Qualifications
•Prior mining experience required
•Skilled ability as a process operator preferred
•Flotation experience preferred
•Ability to operate a semi-automated circuit preferred
•Experience operating forklifts and/or mobile equipment
•The ability to work both day shifts and night shifts
•Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
•The ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve or mitigate upset conditions to minimize production losses.
