The purpose of the role is to support IOC's Rio Tinto Safe Production System (RTSPS), a Rio Tinto wide initiative. The role will deliver on change communication support for the programme and at initiative level if required.

The role will report through to IOC SPS Site Lead.
  • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure awareness, understanding and engagement
  • Provide sufficient information to be enable key stakeholders to be advocates of the project
  • Provide communication to build the project teams effectiveness
  • Communication plan. Business Readiness
  • Workshops, presentations and road shows
  • Supports interactions and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Keeps abreast of Best Practice methodology and central resource tools and templates, utilises it in work activities and promotes its use within the company.
  • Manage the co-ordination and development of communication packages to all key stakeholders including senior leadership team
  • Scheduling and governance of programme engagement sessions
  • Education, awareness and understanding

To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • Strong comunications experience
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline or suitable experience.
  • Superb communication and change management skills.
  • Experience in coordination of multiple priorities with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience as a strong communicator, influencer, planner with analytical capability.

Where you will be working

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,400 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.

IOC's operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We also operate a wholly-owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), that links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles.
