About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor Maintenance Mining to lead the safe and effective delivery of planned and breakdown maintenance for Gove Operations heavy mobile equipment (HME).

This role is a great opportunity for a safety focused, team player who thrives when working in a continuously improving environment. Working 4 days on, 4 days off roster ,4 nights, 4 days off roster and reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance - Mining, you will be:
  • Leading a team of Tradespeople to ensure maintenance work is completed safely, effectively and to a high quality.
  • Participating in the preparation of accurate weekly maintenance schedules and assigning tasks to team members.
  • Participating in the measuring, analysing and recommendation of process improvements.
  • Leading by example, communicating effectively and ensuring values of the business are adhered to.

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have a:
  • Strong background with heavy mobile equipment maintenance and be trade qualified.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and support the continuous improvement environment.
  • Competency in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office programs Word and Excel.

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Experience maintaining CAT 777 haul truck, 992 and 993 wheel loaders and 16M motor grader.

Where you will be working

Our Gove Operations have been supplying the global aluminium industry with world-class bauxite for more than 40 years. Located in Australia's Northern Territory, each year the operation produces approximately 12 million tonnes of bauxite.

With a workforce of 460 people, daily activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, shutdown planning and execution, export operations, cultural heritage management, and closure activities following our decision to close the site's alumina refinery and associated Residue Disposal Area in 2017.

We expect our bauxite mining operations on the Gove Peninsula will cease in 2030 and we are undertaking significant work to support closure of the operation. We also recognise our operations take place on Indigenous-owned land, and we are committed to working together to achieve a positive future for Nhulunbuy and the Gove Peninsula post-mining.
