Job Details

Newcrest is one of the world's largest gold mining companies. As a global business, we aim to create a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, valued and supported to bring their whole unique self to work.

We recognise that our different backgrounds and perspectives help us find better ways to: solve problems; attract and retain the best people; explore, develop and produce more gold safely and profitably; and help make Newcrest a better place to work.

Our Cadia Valley Operation is an internationally recognised block cave mine located in central western New South Wales approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange.

As part of our journey to forge an even stronger Newcrest, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager - Mining Projects to lead and manage all execution aspects of our development project, and support improvements to allow the safe achievement of targets in safety, development, productions and risk management at our Cadia operations.

Reporting to the General Manager - Cadia Valley Operations, you will ensure the development and support of standards, procedures and requirements for the safe development of PC2-3, the next panel cave in our extraction sequence and subsequent mining projects to achieve development within budget and time frames. The key focus of your role is to manage the relationship between internal and external stakeholders to achieve success through working together, whilst driving a safety culture through the continuation of NewSafe (our behavioural-based safety program) throughout all areas of the operation and supporting Supervisors and Opinion Leaders to embrace a positive safety environment.

As a successful candidate you will have deep knowledge and experience related to effective management of a diverse and agile team, with a capability to lead change including decision-making that has transformed operational projects. Your ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams will be essential. As a leader, your strengths will help select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved inclusion, engagement, diversity and organisational capability.

The person we are looking for will have strong established experience in a similar operational and leadership role within mining. As an ideal candidate, you will have a Mining Engineering (or similar) qualification or related discipline with highly demonstrated operational experience within a similar environment.

If you are seeking a new career challenge, where you can transfer your existing skills, into a positive and empowering team environment, we'd love to hear from you!

If you share our values and feel that you have the capability and vision to make a meaningful difference in this role, please apply online before the advertised application closing date.
