Operations near and far

Our Cadia site is in the Central West of New South Wales, approximately 25 km outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and a three-hour drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy. Who are we looking for

As our new Supervisor - Ore Processing, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Concentrator One & Two Plants within the Ore Processing area which includes crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening and filtration circuits. Working collaboratively across multiple stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, maintaining the compliance and execution of daily tasks, isolations & shutdown plans. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will ensure the Ore Processing Department is operating safely, effectively and meeting agreed production and recovery targets at below budget cost.

With 14 direct reports and multiple contractors reporting to you, you will:
  • demonstrate, support, and encourage alignment with Newcrest values and policies. You'll also ensure compliance with safety and environmental management systems, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure operation of the processing equipment occurs within the process parameters and control limits in accordance with documented safe work procedures
  • Actively contribute to improvements in safety culture and processes to ensure ongoing, practical improvements in safe work practices and operator training.
  • Manage the shift activities of the Process Technicians, including the assignment of duties/responsibilities, isolations and permits.
  • Report, investigate and contribute to mitigating actions for all incidents and hazards identified
  • Compile daily reports on overall production and recovery targets while troubleshooting and actioning any variance outside of parameters or target

Through excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach, you will coach, mentor, and guide your team, and work seamlessly with various stakeholders to achieve the required safety, operational and commercial outcomes.

In addition, you will be required to have:
  • Extensive supervisory experience of a medium to large team
  • A minimum of 5yrs experience within a Concentrator
  • Ability to promote a positive, inclusive work culture
  • Knowledge of processing plant environment/process from a hard rock mining background.
  • High-level computer skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Motivated and organised, with great communication skills

This will be permanent role with a roster of 7 days on, 7 days off, followed by 7 nights on, 7 nights off.
