Description

Create, review, update and deliver competency based learning and assessment to a culturally diverse range of learners in on and off job situations. Contribute as a recognized technical expert member of a larger team of educational professionals, at all times demonstrating those behaviors that fully support technical training values, policies and procedures.

  • Deliver/facilitate on and off the job Competency Based Development in field of expertise in order to meet customer development needs and quality standards
  • Create competency based learning materials so that learning programs delivered achieve their intended learning outcomes
  • Create competency based assessment tools, conduct on and off the job competency assessments in field of expertise in order to ensure assessment standards are met
  • Develop and communicate learning program schedules, implement schedules to ensure that programs are delivered as planned and meet customer requirements
  • Accurately record and report participant learning and assessment results so that participant records are consistently kept up-to-date and recorded in the Company Learning Management System
  • Respond to customer learning and development, provide appropriate technical support and advice in order to assist technical training meet /exceed customer expectations
  • Develop the technical and instructional of Instructors and Assistant Instructors so that they are able to effectively deliver and assess competency based learning programs
  • Provide a competent technical support service to customers in order to assist customers to fault find and diagnose challenging technical problems that occur with equipment and systems
  • Coordinate competency based learning projects so that these projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Perform other duties as required




Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of directly related experience in the appropriate trade and/or as a Technical Instructor for that trade and recognized as an expert in the appropriate technical field; OR
  • Ten (10) years of directly related experience in the appropriate trade
  • Knowledge of the principles and application of competency based learning so that development programs delivered and assessed meet CBD standards
  • Skill in applying professionally accepted principles of adult learning so that learners are given maximum opportunity to develop job competence
  • Skill in analytical thinking
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Skill in the delivery and assessment of competency based learning programs
  • Demonstrate behaviors that match technical training values, follow and apply Freeport-McMoRan policies and procedures in order to be a role model for development program participants


Preferred
  • Working knowledge and understanding of electrical maintenance including but not limited to the associated processes, work flow and equipment
  • Proficient in VFD troubleshooting, electrical schematic interpretation, maintenance planning and execution
  • Working knowledge and understanding of all electrical and instrument related equipment in a modern concentrator
  • Previous experience with maintaining GMDs (Gearless Mill Drives)
  • Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

Pay Range :

$38.40-$45.20/Hourly

Rate of pay dependent on competency, experience, qualifications and skills

Freeport-McMoRan has reviewed the jobs at its various office and operating sites and determined that many of these jobs require employees to perform essential job functions that pose a direct threat to the safety or health of the employees performing these tasks or others.   • Site-based positions, or positions which require unescorted access to site-based operational areas, which are held by employees who are required to receive MSHA, OSHA, DOT, HAZWOPER and/or Hazard Recognition Training; or
  • Positions which are held by employees who operate equipment, machinery or motor vehicles in furtherance of performing the essential functions of their job duties, including operating motor vehicles while on Company business or travel (for this purpose "motor vehicles" includes Company owned or leased motor vehicles and personal motor vehicles used by employees in furtherance of Company business or while on Company travel); or
  • Positions which Freeport-McMoRan has designated as safety sensitive positions in the applicable job or position description and which upon further review continue to be designated as safety-sensitive based on an individualized assessment of the actual duties performed by a specifically identified employee.
