Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio.

Working an 8/6 Roster, you can FIFO from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin and reside in our fully equipped accommodation village.

About the roles

We are currently seeking to fill two newly created positions within our Sustaining Capital Projects Teams. The positions will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of projects within the scope of the of plan. The main duties will include the management ofmultiple stakeholders, including internal partners, consultants and contractors and will manage vendors, cost scheduling, construction and commissioning.

One of these positions will be focused on supporting the Leach Train Project activities, while the other will support a variety of projects within the team.

About you

  • Relevant Trade or tertiary qualification with a significant experience in supervisory role in the mining industry
  • A proven track record in project execution, including experience with brownfields projects and demonstrated commitment to the successful implementation of the project.
  • Demonstrated experience with self-perform, EPCM, EPC project execution teams
  • Experience in operation of gold processing plants and Open Pit and Underground Operations
  • Excellent communication both written and oral skills with the ability to present findings to senior management
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current Covid-19 vaccination certificate
