Our Infrastructure projects team has recently been awarded the upgrade of Sydney's Warringah Freeway project. The multi-billion design and construction project will see the Warringah Freeway extended from the northern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Willoughby Road. The project will ease traffic congestion and provide new motorway connections, which will help Sydney cope with population growth and increased transport demands.

Position Summary:

We currently have an opportunity for a Contracts Administrator who will be primarily responsible for supporting the Senior Contract Administrator and / or Commercial Manager in implementing appropriate commercial strategies to ensure a successful project delivery, the efficient and effective administration of commercial and contractual matters, and general commercial support and the active day-to-day administration of contracts.

About You:
  • 5+ years' experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar Tertiary Qualification
  • Assist with the preparation, evaluation and recommendation of tenders consistent with the procurement strategy and maintain the procurement register
  • Contribute to drafting of contract documentation during procurement, including the preparation of scopes of work in conjunction with Project Engineer's
  • Process purchase orders into financial system(s) and arrange appropriate approvals
  • Immediately report incidents, near misses and hazards to a responsible manager/supervisor
  • Take care that personal actions or omissions do not endanger self or others
  • Fully comply with instruction and training provided by Downer, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Daily administration of executed subcontracts, with particular emphasis on achieving milestones and variations
  • Quantification and assessment of variations, ensuring consistent with the terms of subcontracts
  • Draft and issue instructions and variation approvals
  • Prepare contractual correspondence and notices as necessary, for review by the Commercial Manager
