Position summary
Downer Rail a leading name in the manufacturing and maintenance of rolling stock across Australia has multiple exciting opportunities for Modification Technicians to join the team at our Auburn facility.

Modification Technicians are responsible for carrying out rework and modification activities on rolling stock at the Centre (or such other locations). This role may also perform routine maintenance, repair, modification and corrective work on rolling stock and associated equipment at the Centre where required

About You:
  • Trade qualifications in a mechanical / electrical
  • Must have an excellent understanding of all technical aspects of rail vehicles and proven experience in the heavy maintenance field
  • You should be able to read, comprehend and apply technical drawings
  • Knowledge of engineering best practices and electric traction is desirable
  • High level of self-motivation, tenacity and determination.
  • Ability to implement change and lead quality and zero harm initiatives.
  • Ability to drive projects and complete within specified time frames
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work in collaboration with others in our organisation and take pride in the achievements of the team;
  • Strive for improvement and innovation, and have the courage to think and actively contribute new initiatives that benefit Downer overall;
  • Demonstrate integrity and responsibility through honest, respectful and transparent communication;
