About the role

We are looking for an Engineer Metals Accounting and Reconciliation to operate the process of metals accounting and reconciliation for smelter and refinery; interact with stakeholders of the areas; and be the touch point for reconciliation for the smelter and refinery.

This role is a great opportunity to be part of the technical team for the Metals portion of RTKC. Reporting to the Senior Engineer Metals Planning, you will:

· Perform the day to day operation of the metal accounting software

· Perform inventory adjustments as necessary

· Perform month end accounting for smelter and refinery

· Provide feedback to stakeholders if any type of data drifts are noted during operation of metals accounting software

· Interface and collaborate with other teams such as Metals Operations, Metals Asset Management, Metals Technical, Engineering & Projects, and Integrated Planning

· Report relevant information to USGS on a monthly basis

· Perform as a credible technical resource for the smelter and refinery

· Work closely with metals planner to align plans as accurately as possible with plant conditions

· Participate in project teams to solve process or planning problems in order to optimize value for RTKC

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

· A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your team

· S. degree in Mining, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering or relevant work experience

· Understanding of planning processes

· 2+ year of experience in mining or processing

· Experience with data validation

· Mass balances

Where you will be working

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
