Responsibilities:
  • Perform conceptual and detail design engineering work on the fuel channel to applicable codes, standards and procedures meeting quality, budget and schedule expectations.  The design activities include, but are not limited to the preparation of technical calculations and the preparation of design documents and technical reports.
  • Develop, plan, specify, schedule, conduct detailed phases of the engineering work for fuel channel components during proposals, procurement, manufacturing, qualification and installation.
  • Review design reports, calculations, documents and drawings in support of design verification.
  • Provide component procurement support for active refurbishment projects
  • Develop and review technical documents, such as: engineering drawings and bill of materials, calculations, design specifications, design/analysis reports, design requirements, design manuals,  technical specifications (for procurement, fabrication, and site installation), data sheets, system classification lists, code classifications, commissioning specifications, etc.;
  • Support field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions, commissioning, Advanced Fuel Cycle, and closeout packages for EC revisions, etc.
  • Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters


Qualifications:
  • Degree, Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering from a university of recognized standing
  • Licensed, or eligible to and in the process to license, as Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
  • Team player
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in the application of GD&T
  • Proven aptitude for continuous learning
  • Knowledge in manufacturing processes
  • Experience in FEA structural analysis using ANSYS/DYNA/ABAQUS is a preferred
